Commercial disputes lawyer
An excellent opportunity is available for a lawyer with three to five years post admission experience to work with a partner in our commercial disputes team. This role involves providing litigation and dispute resolution services to commercial clients, with a particular focus on real estate, financial services (including funds management) and general commercial matters. You will be researching and drafting legal opinions and advices, commencing and managing court proceedings, and assisting senior team members by researching discrete legal issues arising out of their files.
The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience of court practice and procedure within state and federal jurisdictions, experience with commercial disputes and debt recovery, the ability to work proactively with a high level of attention to detail and the willingness to use initiative to acquire knowledge and skills. The ability to work in a highly organised manner and excellent file management skills are also essential requirements of this role. We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced, reliable personal assistant to join McMahon Clarke on a 12 month maternity leave contract commencing in November 2019. This role supports two special counsel and a senior associate and has a variety of responsibilities including word processing, document management, monthly billing and other administrative tasks. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years legal secretarial experience and will be familiar with dictaphone typing, Affinity, Outlook and Microsoft Word at an advanced level. Excellent organisation skills and a professional manner are essential.
